In this video I show you a great set of dance exercises to strengthen and elongate your calf muscles. It starts with something called a Releve, which comes from ballet. I share a few variations of doing these Releves for great calf muscle development. We start by standing in a turned out, first position and execute the Releve with two feet. Once you progress, you can then do these in single leg, I show you exactly what to do in the video.
Lastly, I show you how to do a small first position jump. This is a fantastic exercise! While working your calf muscles it also engages the rest of your leg and brings in cardiovascular training, too!
Be sure to warmup and stretch before you do any workout routine.
