5 Steps to Let Go and Boost Creative Confidence

so you can shine your brightly and make a positive impact.

This isn't an official step, but a reminder… You got this!

Welcome, fellow creative entrepreneur! In this blog post, I want to help you overcome self-doubt, squash any lack of confidence, and undo difficulties in finding inspiration and creative flow. So, let's explore 5 Steps to Let Go of Doubt and Boost Creative Confidence that are easy to apply and use over and over. Whatever your creative style or outlet may be, these tips will help you tap into your innate creativity and find the inspiration you need to bring your vision to life.

Step 1: Journal

When journal writing, allow yourself to leave it all on the pages. Don't worry about getting it right the first time – just write or create with abandon. You can always refine later.

Don't worry about grammar, spelling, or punctuation when you're writing in your journal. The goal is to get your thoughts out of your head and onto paper. If you're concerned about someone else reading your journal, you can always keep it in a private place or use a password-protected digital journal.

Journal writing is a great way to reflect on your day, process your emotions, and track your personal growth. You can use your journal to set goals, make plans, and record your accomplishments. It's a way to document your life and create a record of your journey.

So, the next time you sit down to write in your journal, give yourself permission to let go and write with abandon. Remember that you can always refine your thoughts later, but for now, just let it all out. Happy writing!

Step 2: Brain Dump

Now that you’ve done your free wringing, it’s time to Brain dump. Take a few minutes to jot down all of your ideas, thoughts, and feelings related to your project. This will help clear your mind and make room for fresh inspiration.

Brain dumping is a powerful tool that can help you organize your thoughts and come up with new ideas. The purpose of this exercise is to get everything out of your head and onto paper, so you can see it all in one place.

Brain dumping is simple. Grab any sheet of paper, a notebook, a phone app that will support list form thinking and start writing down everything that comes to mind for your project.

Once you've finished brain dumping, take a break and come back to your notes later with fresh eyes. Look for patterns and connections between your ideas, and start to group them into categories or themes. This will help you identify the most important ideas and prioritize your next steps.

Remember, brain dumping is just one tool in your creative toolkit. Use it whenever you need to clear your mind and generate new ideas, but don't forget to also take breaks, get plenty of rest, and nourish your body and mind with healthy habits. With practice, you'll become more skilled at tapping into your creativity and unlocking your full potential.

Step 3: Ask the Big Questions of Yourself

What is it that you really want to say or create? What is your vision for this project? Take some time to reflect on these questions and write down your answers.

Asking the big questions of yourself is an important step in any project. It helps you to clarify your thinking and to focus on what is truly important. By asking these questions, you are essentially attempting to clarify your vision for the project.

Keep it simple. Throughout your day, keep your question wheel going.

Whether you're faced with uncertainty or completely disengaged from work, ask yourself questions like:

  • Who is the best person to collaborate with on this project?
  • What is my next logical step?
  • Who will benefit from my efforts?
  • What message do I want to convey?
  • What are the key themes or ideas that I want to explore?

Then, always remember to jot down your thoughts and ideas any out of the blue moments that seem to hit.

Remember to always write down any unexpected thoughts or ideas that come to mind. While they may seem to arise out of nowhere, they can often be direct reflections of the answers you've been seeking.

By asking these big questions of yourself, you will be able to clarify your thinking and to focus on what is truly important. Your answers will help guide you as you move forward with your project, and will ensure that you stay true to your vision.

Step 4: Wait, Listen, and Watch for the Answers

Don't force it – sometimes the best ideas come when we least expect them. Give yourself time to marinate on your questions and let the answers come to you. Stepping away form it all and getting into nature can create the space to allow this to happen.

Nature has a way to help us heal and rejuvenate. Stepping away from our daily lives and immersing ourselves in the natural world can be one of the most refreshing and revitalizing experiences that we can have. It allows us to connect with something bigger than ourselves and can help us gain a new perspective on life.

There are many ways that we can connect with nature, whether it be taking a hike in the mountains, walking along the beach, or simply sitting under a tree in a park. Being in nature can help us feel more grounded and present, which can be especially helpful when we're feeling overwhelmed or stuck in our daily lives.

So if you're feeling the pressure of your current projects and day to day life, consider taking some time to connect with nature. It may be just the thing you need to feel inspired, motivated, and empowered to take on your dreams and make a positive impact with your work.

Step 5: Grab your Planner and Organize your thoughts

Once you have your answers, let them guide you as you create. Don't worry about being perfect or getting it right – just let your creativity flow.

Organizing your thoughts is an important step in the creative process. By having a clear idea of what you want to achieve, you can make the creative process smoother and more efficient. Once you have your ideas down on paper, it's time to let your creativity flow. Don't worry about whether your ideas are perfect or not, just let them guide you and allow your imagination to run wild.

One of the most important things to remember is to have confidence in your creativity. Creativity is a process that requires vulnerability and the willingness to take risks. By following the five steps outlined here, you can build your creative confidence and unlock your true creative potential. So grab your inspirational planner, organize your thoughts, and let your creativity take flight.

One simple tool to help you achieve each of these 5 Steps to Let Go of Doubt and Boost Creative Confidence and also keep your thoughts organized in by using a journal, a notebook, and/or a planner.

I particularly love undated journals because they allow for pockets of life. With an undated journal, you can start whenever you like and write as much or as little as you want. You can also skip days or weeks without worrying about missing a page, and come back to it when you're ready. This flexibility allows you to focus on your creativity without the added pressure of keeping up with a rigid schedule.
